Let's talk about Qubooli today. Qubooli recipe sounds to me a very different recipe. Basically, it's originated from Mughal Emperor, What i have read it's meaning "acceptance" in Urdu. Aurangzeb liked qubooli most, he's also the creator of this recipe.  Last week, i planned to have something different on my dinner table, chose qubooli and talaajee (baingan raita). Can call it simply chana daal palao in Urdu. Well I will discuss in my next post how to make talaajee using eggplant. Let's briefly talk about white rice calories, its about 130 in 100 grams of rice. I wasnot familiar with this recipe before. I learnt this from my mother in law she belongs to Delhi. She also taught me how to cook Talaajee. Both are typical traditional Indian Recipe. I preffered to make ease for my readers. Love to explain recipes with step by step pictures. Here's my recipe :


QUBOOLI: 
  • 2 onions medium sized
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 inch ginger piece
  • 2 tomatoes medium sized
  • 2 to 3 Green chilli
  • 2 cups of rice (soak them for half an hour atleast)
  • 1 cup of boiled split pea/ Chana daal
  • 3.5 cups of water

Seasonings 1.5 tsp of Salt, 0.5 tsp of Red Pepper, 0.5 tsp of crushed Red Pepper, 0.5 tsp of turmeric powder

Split pea rice| chana daal chawal| chana daal palao| nice rice dishes Mixture of Spices : garam masala 2 to 3 cinnamon sticks (Daal Cheeni), 1 tbsp of cumin seeds (Jeera), 1/2 tsp of raw black pepper (kaali mirch), 3 to 4 cloves (Laung)
Steps to Follow
Cut Onions in julienne, chop ginger n garlic, tomato. 
Fry Onions till golden brown, ginger + garlic, add tomatoes and all spices + seasonings

Add Boiled chana Daal/ split peas, fry them for a minute or two, add 3.5 cups of water;

Add soaked rice when water starts to boil, let it evaporate till 1/3 water left

Now Cover the lid, cook on slow flame for 15 minutes.. yuhooooooooo Ready ! eat it with any chutnee, dips , best to have with yogurt or indian food raita..
