Rose Rolls | Pizza Roses - Step by Step

Are you looking for good , healthy and delicious meals to cook at home? Finally it's a right place for the people who loves home cooked tasty meals but being on diet can't afford this eating habit. It's a bit healthy version of my Pizza Rose Rolls, its a simple Rose Roll but given step by step so you can easily cook at home. This will go best with soup at your lunch or dinner. It's majorly baked with wheat flour which has turned these rose rolls to a good and healthy meal. Probably you have read my article on Weight Loss and Diet Tips which was published earlier. You may include this healthy recipe in your meal, by keeping in mind there is also cheese. If you are following some strict diet plan you may exclude it. But i included it by keeping in mind how many calories i were taking. So, please hop over to the detailed recipe of healthy Rose Rolls;


PIZZA ROSE ROLLS (low Calories)

Preparation Time : 5 to 10 minutes
Refrigeration time: 1 to 2 hours
Baking time : 15 to 20 minutes
Serves: 6 to 8
Idea adapted from PepperChilliandVanilla



For dough

  • 450 grams of Wheat Flour plus extra to dust
  • 50 grams of all purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp of Instant Yeast
  • 2 tbsp of Powdered Milk
  • 1 tsp of Salt
  • 1/2 tbsp of Sugar
  • 3 tbsp of butter/oil
  • Warm water to knead  


For filling

  • 250 grams of boiled Chicken
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp of Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp of Hot sauce
  • 1/3 cup of shredded Cheddar Cheese
Prepare filling by mixing all these ingredients 


For applying on buns

  • 1 Egg, beat it slightly
  • Sesame seeds

Procedure to be followed:


STEP 1: Knead dough with all above ingredients (egg, wheat flour, all purpose flour, instant yeast, powdered milk, salt, sugar, butter) with warn water and set it aside at warm place for 2 to 3 hours to rise. I kept it in a microwave (plugged out) to have better results.


STEP 2:  Make small 12 to 15 dough balls from dough. Roll out each ball to about 3 to 4 diameter.


STEP 3: Make 4 diagonal cuts as shown below by leaving the center intact.

STEP 4: Brush butter in center and fill its filling. First, cover the filling with its side. Then, take the opposite side's and cover. Repeat till it forms a rose. 


STEP 5: Pre-heat your oven up to 180 C. Brush roses with beaten egg an sprinkle sesame seeds. Bake for about 10 to 15 minutes till it color changes to golden.


STEP 6: Remove them from baking tray. Ready to serve with soup or meal.
